I have to say that I had a great time putting this one together. I was going to do Disco but somehow it shaped up into a battle between Diana Ross and Donna Summer. Long before there was a Bey Bey and Rhi Rhi battle…there was the grown Diva battle between Diana and Donna. Disco was good for Diana’s emerging solo career and for the newcomer Donna’s breakout hits. The 70’s were good to these ladies so I included most of their fast hits!

Monday Mixtape: Timberland vol 1
This week’s mix is some of the best of Timberland. Timberland is one of the best R&B producers I know. Yeah, I know he does rap too but his hiphop beats always appeals to these R&B ears of mine. He has the ability to make the hardest MCs sound danceable! Timberland is a genius. His beats always leave you slightly off kilter, slightly off beat with enough break for grinding. Yeah…I spent a lot of time grinding to Tim. Don’t let the lights go dim on some Aaliyah…don’t let the lights go dim and I owed somebody like Nas…Enough reminiscing…

She requested this mix for her b’day back in April and although I was still going to class at Scratch, I put this together for her. I used some of songs I was listening to in April and may…with some of the songs i used for my final at the Scratch Academy…with some of the songs I heard during Tutu’s birthday weekend…

I will end up taking a few weeks off from the Mixtress because of the job, plus I’m learning so much at the Scratch Academy I wanna start practicing at home more. With the new turntables and loads of records that I have to catalog…I will be quite busy!
