This week”s Monday Mixtape is a request by @Eb_the_Celeb. A few months back she requested a 90’s girl mix. I tried to include many of the girl groups and collabos that were quite popular in 90’s R&B.
It’s time for Cupid’s Hunt again! 2010 and this is my third year doing it!
Well I’ve actually been down since the beginning..when it was just a few of us…now we have over 30 participants! I’m so excited about us joining in to do this collaboration across so many different websites.
This week’s Monday Mixtape is dedicated to my sister and BEST FRIEND Divalicious. It’s full of her favorite ladies from the 80’s!!! It was her 40th birthday and although I wasn’t able to celebrate in person with her in Memphis, she knows I was there in spirit. She is my very best friend.
This mixtape is a step out of the box. Jimi Izrael contacted me and requested that I do a mixtape for the release of his new book “The Denzel Principle”.
This was a new experience for me..I took his selected readings…read by the Dizzle himself and laid them over popular instrumentals. I took some of the most recent R&B and hip hop songs and placed them between the tracks.
I usually start of the year with a Prince Mix so I’m a week behind for all you stans out there!
For this mix I decided to combine some off-the-wall Prince songs combined with some of my favorites from his obscure albums. I also threw in a few of my favorite B-Sides for you too.
I love Prince and I love yall…so here you go!
The new year is starting out great for me…I’ve been pulled back into my old hustle of making customized mixtapes. I had so much fun with this one. It has everything on it from hip-hop to soca. A little reggae, some R&B and of course some old school!!!
So here it is….My last mix of the year. I have to tell the truth..I’m not sorry to see 2009 go..
Here are my favorite tracks of 2009. Some hip hop..some R&B..a lot of Diva…I even provided my commentary!
Have a blessed and safe New Year and see you on the other side of 10 🙂
This is my December Mix aka The Usual Suspects. I’ve been listening to a lot of new albums these past few weeks and I’m proud to say that my favorite singers came hard! Say what you will about R. Kelly, Chris Brown and Alicia Keys but their artistic work stands firm. Hardships, mistakes and even crimes cannot take away their talent. I hope you enjoy the mix!
This week’s mixtape is fulfilling a request from a long term blogger friend. SueZette. We have such long history (maybe I’ll blog about it on the private spot Zette ;)) but I love this girl. She is magnificent and striking and intelligent…she was going in a couple of weeks ago on Twitter and I dug what she was playing so I offered to make her a mix. I hope you enjoy our version of Sexcellence!
This week I’m continuing the slow jam series with the Isley Brothers. You can’t make a old school slow jam mix without them and I decided to make a mix of most of my favorites. I hope you enjoy it!
