Drex – Rise To The Top (VIDEO)

Drex has been making his mark on the Canadian music industry over the last few years; now he is taking it international. With his current release of what he calls a pre-album, “Pilot Project” Drex begins to show the world that he is not just a local artist, but that he is being recognized for his work across the Globe. Deemed a messenger of truth by the United Nations, Drex’s song “Rise to the top” which has a video he shot in Rio de Janeiro, is just a sample of what’s to come in the near future. Drex plans to release his album “City to City” in the late fall of 2009. This album will help raise money for a community media arts centre in a favella in Rio. This program will offer young people living in some of the world’s worst poverty an opportunity to build careers in video, photography, music, radio and more. Similar to The Remix Project (www.theremixproject.ca), which Drex is a founder of, this media arts centre in Rio is a partner program of Remix.
