Monday Mixtape: Memphis Blues

This week’s Monday Mixtape is correctly named. I’m happy to be back home in Harlem but with all this cold weather, missing all the big family events over the holidays…I guess you could say I had the Memphis Blues. So this mixtape is a sample of the type of music I listened to while in the BBQ capital of the world! I guess my blues will be lifted when my sister comes to spend my Birthday weekend with me. A three day extravaganza. I can’t wait.

But back to the mixtape!

This spans the spectrum from classic blues to modern blues. There was also a period when Rhythm AND Blues was born so I included a bit of that. This is for the really grown and sexy but I’m sure u youngins can pick up the hooks and beats to some of modern day rap favorites…
