For this Monday Mixtape I’m going back to one of my favorite music eras..Classic House Music of the 80’s and early 90’s. Remember the hankerchief in the back pocket? It was part of the outfit but you still needed it to wipe up the sweat! When everyone would take a turn in the circle and work their best moves? I sure do! I miss those days at the Sound Factory, Tunnel and the Clubhouse. This is my first time mixing house so I hope you’ll be gentle in the comments…Every day is a step toward perfection!
Here’s my boy Tony giving us a taste of what House Dancing was like:

1. Follow Me
2. 100% Pure Love – Crystal Waters
3. Girl I’ll House You – Jungle Brothers

You asked for feedback, I think, but even if you didn’t, I’m gonna offer some.
The selections are right on, but–and I don’t know if you are using vinyl or digital media–but the phrasing is off. These days, djs don’t do phrasing, but when mixing house, it’s essential.
I think digital mixing discourages thinking out the mix.
love this mix. im a young college student down here in FLA, but originally from NY. grew up as kid listening to these songs through my parents. personally i love this kind of house compared to the house music being put out now. keep doing ur thing mixtress.
