Hey Everybody…A new month, a new Monday and a new mixtape. Once again I prove that I’m your favorite blogger’s favorite DJ. This week is a New Groove/NeoSoul collaboration that I worked on with SueZette for the relaunch of her website www.dearzette.com . Monday Mixtape: Soca 2011
Hey Everybody! This week’s mixtape is dedicated to new Soca music. My girl Ava (whose beautiful face is in the cover) goes to Trinidad every year for the Carnivale celebration and this year we collaborated on the best music that slayed the fetes this year. I have to say..I really didn’t know I would enjoy making this mix so much. I will certainly be coming back to this genre again. Shout out to Afrobella, Krishna Davenport, Smarty’s World, CJ, Socre8eve and the rest of my soca lovers out there!!

Cupid’s Hunt Monday Mixtape: Prince Slow Jams
t’s fitting that this would be my return mixtape. I start out every year on The Mixtress with a Prince Mix. I also got a chance to see his Welcome 2 America Tour which was quite awesome. I have 2 more mixtapes in the fault coming for yall so I look forward to jamming with yall to my upcoming Monday Mixtapes.

Monday Mixtape: December Jams 2010
Hey Everybody! What a way to close out the year! Kanye’s new album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” has been on constant repeat in my headphones for the last 3 weeks so I built this mixtape around him. I threw in some new joints, had to look out for Harlem and the Dipset Reunion! That new song by Brandy sounds like a Ne-Yo song and speaking of Ne-Yo, I threw in a couple by him too! Considering that it was Pink Friday last week, I included some Nikki Minaj. Personally I think Lil Kim roasted her in Black Friday so that’s in the mix too!
Monday Mixtape: For Colored Girls Who Keep It Moving
Hey Everybody! I came up with this mix after watching the new Tyler Perry Movie “For Colored Girls” based on the play “For Colored Girls Who Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Wasn’t Enuf” by Ntozake Shange. I personally thought it was a good movie. I was thankful to see so many actresses of color working in a film about us. I am grateful that Tyler took the project on even though most don’t think he was qualified to do it. If he didn’t do it…who would have?
Anyway, considering my situation and the fact that I identified with most of the characters I decided to put together my own mix. I chose a song for all of the characters and for myself. I hope you enjoy it!

Welcome to another Memphis Edition of the Monday Mixtape. Memphis Blues Part 2 aka the Marriage Blues. When I go to different cities, I like to pick up on the musical tastes of those around me and the various night spots we hang out in. This time around what I noticed the most were that the most popular songs were about cheating…and not just cheating…serious adultery was being committed in these songs. Women..Men…they both were singing about sneaking around on their spouses. Stories, advice, caution…a person could pick up a lot of tips if one was so inclined
