Welcome to another Memphis Edition of the Monday Mixtape. Memphis Blues Part 2 aka the Marriage Blues. When I go to different cities, I like to pick up on the musical tastes of those around me and the various night spots we hang out in. Here is the first Memphis Blues Mix that I did (click here). This time around what I noticed the most were that the most popular songs were about cheating…and not just cheating…serious adultery was being committed in these songs. Women..Men…they both were singing about sneaking around on their spouses. Stories, advice, caution…a person could pick up a lot of tips if one was so inclined

Now I don’t condone this sort of thing…but it was certainly fun to listen to. I made sure to sprinkle in some other songs I heard about love too! Hey Everybody! I had more requests for the 90′s so this time I went mid late 90′s. Full of the bouncy R&B joints and since I spent the weekend with hubby, I threw in a few joints for him too. He’s been playing my Mellow May and August Heat mixtapes a lot in the last two weeks so I know this will make it onto his Ipod as well. I experimented and practiced more with the techniques I learned at the Scratch Academy..Sometimes it worked…sometimes I didn’t quite hit the mark..I’m a work in progress. Despite the minor flaws I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do!
