This week”s Monday Mixtape is a request by @Eb_the_Celeb. A few months back she requested a 90′s girl mix. I tried to include many of the girl groups and collabos that were quite popular in 90′s R&B. I left some people out like Xscape but this is a theme I know I will return to. In the mid 90′s I spent a lot of time in the clubs and doing Karaoke..but how is that different from now?? Anyway..

Me and Eb been cool for a good long while. The Internet does that to people but I’ve met her in person too. A Harlem Socialite..Eb’s great enthusiam is only matched by her hard work. The Girl is busy! She’s into sports, reflection, video and of course music! I’m glad she had patience for this mix and I think it’s my finest to date in terms of beatmatching by ear…Can’t wait for my Serato box! I hope you enjoy it!

My girl Golden aka Miss Jo_Ladie made a request last week for some workout music! I read a post recently by DJ Stylus where he said that he refuses requests to play R. Kelly while he’s spinning. He based it on how he felt about R. Kelly’s troubles with the law and his fondness for young girls. Now while I understood how he felt, I also thought that it was a little harsh. After all, music is music. No one stopped playing Michael Jackson because he liked little boys. We didn’t stop listening to Whitney Houston because she smoked crack and we also loved Biggie although he sold it. I personally don’t look at the personal lives of artists to enjoy their art. If we did, we probably wouldn’t look at any paintings or listen to any music because we all know that artists tend to have pretty messed up lifestyles or desires.

That said, while I was thinking of these things the idea of R. Kelly as the King of the Remix began to form in my head. As I went through my mental discography, I kept coming up with more hits done by the R. Of course I put them all together and this mixtape was born. Say what you want but R. Kelly consistently gives us good music. Well good in my eyes. Sure most of it has x-rated lyrics or sexual undertones…but that’s what we’ve always loved about him right?  Well these are some of my favorites:

It’s time for Mixtape Mondays!!!!!

This week I decided to do a mix of Diddy inspired music. There wasn’t a night that I was in the clubs that I didn’t hear a Puffy track. So I put some of my favorites together for this week’s mixtape “Diddy Makes You Dance Vol.1″

I hope he doesn’t pull a “bitchass-ness” move and have me shut down like he did “A Hot Mess” last week! That was really a hot mess! So to avoid that, I didn’t put the the track listing on this post. If he wants to know what’s on it, he better have someone from his team listen to it!
