Hey Everybody! This week’s mixtape contains some of my favorite Pop Rock songs.

Backstory:

I was walking in to work and stopped to get some coffee. I was blasting the new Mr. Hudson album and ran in to my friend @GreenIz . I let her listen to what I was jamming to and she said that she was surprised to know I listened to that kind of music. I laughed hearty because at that moment the theme for this mixtape was born. I’m not into hard rock like Metallica, but I certainly love the guitar! (as evidenced by my love for all things Prince)

I knew I wasn’t finished with 2008. There were too many pop artists who were awesome last year that I spent a lot of time listening to. Maroon 5 has always been my favorite band and this year’s offering from them was spectacular! Madonna and Janet made a couple of comebacks…although I think Madonna’s was better than Janet’s. Rhianna obviously has won Pop hearts all over the world…I’m not sold though. Adele promises to be the next sober Amy Winehouse and Pink let us know that she’s still a Rock Star. Britney cleaned up her act and grew some hair. Diddy gave us Making the Band 3 and Danity Kane soared and crashed and burned. I won’t hold my breath for Day 26 and Donnie J…but we shall see. The catchiest tune of the year was on a Sappho tip….I never kissed a girl…but I lked the song on the down low ColdPlay made us all dance hysterically and we were introduced to Leona Lewis …a huge voice from overseas.  I couldn’t forget the teeny boppers Chris Brown and Jordin Sparks and what mixtape would be complete without Beyonce? (Stan alert)
