Monday Mixtape: Cupid’s Hunt R Kelly Sex
It’s time for Cupid’s Hunt again!!!! 6 years strong. I am so proud to be part of such an awesome group of podcasters.
I decided to get raunchy with it this year. I love R. Kelly. That’s right..I said it. I LOVE THE R. Despite his character failings, I still love his music. In the 90′s, R. Kelly almost single-handedly revived R&B. When he says he put the “R” in R&B, he ain’t lying! When Bump N Grind dropped in 1993, it spent 12 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart. We LOVED the frank nature of his songs and he never let us down. On every album, The R. supplied us with songs about sex and love, and sometimes the two were interchangeable. I don’t judge an artist for his personal life, I deal with the music. So I hope you enjoy this mix of my favorite R. Kelly Sex Songs and again..I am not responsible for any babies made while listening to this mix. No child support here

90′s R&B Dance Party
I have had a dancing bug for a while now. I needed a mix that would make me drop it low and remind me of all those great nights dancing in the club. I came up with this jamming mixtape. All R&B with some rap collabos sprinkled in. At first I stopped at 59 minutes and my sister Divalicious made me go back into the lab and add more songs. She wanted her full 80 minutes and she didn’t want to be cheated! Anything Divalicious wants, she gets! I have to admit…she was right! LOL So I hope you enjoy this mix and that it helps you dance!

That’s right..It’s Cuffing Season again! Last year I did the 80′s and well this year..we’ve let loose some of the old players and we have a new quarterback! So I’ve moved up a decade and I’m doing the 90′s! It’s full of some of my favorite 90′s R&B love songs and lovemaking songs. I plead the 5th I haven’t made something so sweet in a long time so relax and enjoy your ride.
Monday Mixtape: Gospel Prince Mix
We all know that I am a HUGE Prince fan. I also recently went back to attending church. So I coupled my resurgence of faith with the Purple One’s love of God and came up with this mix. Some songs I chose for the outright worship of the Most High. Others I chose for their references to scripture or biblical stories. I picked some because of the beautiful way Prince sung about Adam and Eve and what it must have been like for the first man and first woman. I always felt he sung about that story beautifully.
I hope you enjoy and remember that “Love is God and God is Love”.
Monday Mixtape: Jam On It ( @Soulbounce )
I love making concept mixtapes. Butta from Soulbounce asked to create an old school mix for the 5th Blog Anniversary and when she sent me the cover art I knew what I had to do. This mixtape is full of hip hop dance tracks from 1980-1985. I remember listening to many of these songs as a pre-teen and although this is vintage music, I think you will still enjoy the trip down memory lane! Monday Mixtape: 60s Black Female Pop (@Danamo Mix)
This week’s Monday Mixtape was inspired by both the UnSung episode of The Marvelettes and by the Spotify playlist of the beautiful and talented Danyel Smith. Ms. @Danamo is writing a book on the role of black women in the Pop music. I had so much fun with her playlist that I decided to make a mix. These 20 songs will always be classics and hopefully my mix will be a learning experience for some.
Monday Mixtape: Mr.Red/2005
Hey Everybody. This mixtape is a dedication to my new friend Mr. Red and also a salute to the R&B from the year 2005. As with many of my mixes, the concept usually starts from a couple of songs and grows from there. In this case it was Yo (Excuse Me Miss) and You Don’t Know My Name. Those two songs kept swirling around in my head whenever I thought of Mr. Red and how we met in November, so I did some research and came up with a playlist on Spotify. I thought it was private until I noticed people subscribing to it. Also in 2005, two of my favorite producers Pharrell and Timberland were churning out hit after hit. I attended a Neptunes vs. Timberland party recently and I decided to go ahead and make a mixtape out of the list.
A long convoluted story right? For those that were there at @KittyBradshaw ‘s birthday party …(@f_uitlist and @TheJadedNYer you were there..lol) you know that I’ve been holding on to this for a minute! LOL The backstory was so sweet though. A cute guy, staring at you the whole night during a party. You feel the attraction and so much is said through the meaningful looks, but neither of you makes a move. It’s a dope party and before you know it the night is over. There is one brief exchange, neither of you get the other’s number or their name, and you walk away thinking what could have been. Until he finds you on Facebook LOL
And if you’re wondering…he’s more handsome than the guy in the cover pic…and he was wearing that red sweater too
